Elements

The items that are packaged, usually in a downloadable .zip file, that allow you to make nearly all of the design for a quilt scrapbook page. This can include the background paper, coordinating paper, embellishments, photo corners, alphabets, etc.

Clipart

Clipart is the images or embellishments that you can use in your quilt scrapbook pages. These are most commonly .jpg or .png files. There are also .gif files but they usually aren't the best types of files to print (read: fuzzy).

DPI

DPI = dots per inch. For most web graphics, you see 72 DPI images. Print graphics need to be more dense in the color presentation at 300 dpi. If you find that your images or pages are printing fuzzy, you probably need to increase your DPI.

Digital Scrapbook Software

While there are a number of software programs available to create quilt scrapbook pages, it's not always necessary to purchase such. MSN Word or MSPublisher work just fine. Usually, you'll find it's your printer that makes a difference in the print quality of your pages.

Font

A font is the type face of the words you type on your page. Some quilt scrapbook elements come with their own font images, while others will require you to use a font on your computer. Be sure you read the instructions of your computer to learn how to install fonts ... and read the instructions for your printer to make sure what type of font it will print.

Digital Scrapbooking

Many people enjoy the hobby of scrapbooking. Digital scrapbooking takes this popular past time and combines it with the computer! Instead of having a number of elements to make a scrapbook page, these elements are retrieved digitally (i.e. on the computer) and used in a program that allows you to manipulate these elements to create a quilt scrapbook page! Once done, you may print the page and keep it in a hard-bound quilt scrapbook ... or just save it to a CD. Whatever you choose, it's the beauty of your quilt and the artistic rendition of your quilt scrapbook that will keep your quilted heart memories forever!
